Shopify Outage History: Every Official Incident Since June 2026
Revenue Shield records Shopify's official status page every time it changes, because our checkout monitoring needs to know whether a failure is your store or the platform. This log is built from those recordings. Titles are Shopify's own wording.

"Listed for" is how long the incident stayed open on Shopify's status page, from Shopify's posted start time until it was removed. It is not a measure of how long any individual store was affected. Components are those Shopify marked as degraded or down while the incident was open.
Why this log exists
Shopify's status page at shopifystatus.com shows incidents while they are open. After they are resolved, the incident links redirect to the homepage, the history page shows "No incidents reported for this month", and the public incident feed's most recent entry is from June 2025. The page also has email, SMS and incident subscriptions switched off.
In practice that means a merchant who sees a sales dip on a Tuesday cannot go back on Friday and check whether Shopify had a checkout incident that day. We think merchants should be able to, so we publish what we record.
How often does Shopify go down?
On the official record, Shopify posted 16 incidents in the period covered above, roughly one a week. Most were partial: one component or one payment method, for some merchants. Independent tracker StatusGator, which also counts problems Shopify never posted, reports a much higher figure. Both numbers are small next to the failures that never appear on any status page: a single store's checkout broken by an app update or theme change, while Shopify itself is fine.
Is it Shopify or is it my store?
Check the status page first. If it shows an open incident on Checkout or Storefront, the problem is probably the platform, and there is little to do but wait and pause paid traffic. If the status page is green and customers still can't buy, the cause is almost always on your store: an app, a theme change, a script or a payment setting.
