Quick Start Guide
Revenue Shield is designed to go from installation to active monitoring with minimal configuration. Most stores are fully protected within five minutes of installing the app.
Step 1: Install From the Shopify App Store

- Click Add app on the listing page.
- Review the requested permissions and click Install app to confirm.
- You will be redirected to the Revenue Shield dashboard inside your Shopify admin.
read_products and write_products access. These are required to read your store's product catalog during test generation and to operate within the embedded app framework. Revenue Shield does not modify your products, orders, or theme files.
Step 2: Onboarding and Test Generation
Once installed, Revenue Shield automatically begins onboarding. During this process, the system analyzes your store and generates five out-of-the-box (OOTB) checkout flow tests using AI-powered Playwright browser automation:
- Homepage to Product — Navigates your homepage, clicks a product link, and verifies the product detail page loads.
- Collections to Product — Browses a collection page, selects a product, and confirms it renders correctly.
- Product to Cart — Visits a product page, adds the item to cart, and verifies the cart updates.
- Search to Product — Uses your store's search functionality, clicks a result, and validates the destination page.
- Cart to Checkout — Opens the cart and proceeds to the checkout page, verifying the transition completes.
This process typically completes within 60 seconds. No manual configuration is required.
Step 3: Configure Alerts
Navigate to Settings in the Revenue Shield dashboard to configure your notification preferences:
- Email — Enabled by default using your Shopify account email. Add additional recipients as needed.
- Slack — Connect a Slack workspace and select a channel. Alerts include test name, failure details, and links to screenshots and video.
- SMS — Add a phone number for text message alerts on test failures.
Step 4: Verify and Monitor
Your OOTB tests begin running on your plan's default cadence immediately after onboarding completes. You can:
- View the status of each test on the dashboard
- Trigger a manual test run at any time
- Review screenshots and video recordings from completed runs
That Is It
